The process

From a muddy plot to a garden at dusk

Four steps, one team and a fixed price before anything is dug. Most gardens take three to four months from the first visit to the last plant.

  1. 01 · An hour on site

    Design visit

Ines or Owen walks the garden with you, looks at the soil, the light and the levels, and listens to how you want to use it. You get an honest idea of the budget it would take before you commit to anything.

    £120

    • A walk round the garden and the house
    • Soil, drainage, levels and aspect checked
    • A rough budget range by email within three days
    • Taken off the design fee if you go ahead
  2. 02 · 3 to 4 weeks

    Design

A measured survey, then a scaled plan with the stone, the planting and the lighting drawn in, and a fixed quote for building it. We meet twice to change what you'd like changed.

    • Two rounds of changes, then a fixed quote
  3. 03 · 2 to 8 weeks

    Build

Our own team clears the site, lays the stone, builds the beds, runs the cables and plants. You get a short note every Friday with photos and what's next.

    • Beds, edging, lawns and lighting
    • Planting by Ines, to the plan
    • A Friday note with photos each week
  4. 04 · The first year, and on

    Aftercare

Three visits in the first year to check the planting, adjust the lights and replace anything that didn't take. After that, a care plan if you'd like us to keep it as it was meant to look.

Included, then from £95 a month

    • Visits in spring, summer and autumn
    • Plants guaranteed for two years with a care plan
    • Lights checked and re-aimed as the planting grows
    • A care plan whenever you'd like one

Book a design visit

Pick a morning or afternoon that suits you. We'll come to the garden, so you don't need to prepare anything; a rough idea of your budget helps.

Questions

How far ahead do you book?

Design visits are usually within two weeks. Builds are booked six to ten weeks ahead in spring and summer, less in autumn and winter.

Do I need planning permission?

Most gardens don't. Raised terraces near a boundary, large structures and listed buildings can: we'll tell you at the design visit and handle the application if one is needed.

How do payments work during the build?

A quarter when we book the build, a half when the stone is down, and the rest when the planting is in and you're happy. Everything is in the design and deposit terms.

Can we live at home while you build?

Yes. We work 8 till 4, keep a clear path to your door and tell you a day ahead of anything noisy or dusty.
